Self Harm & Suicidal Ideation

Leslie treats adults and adolescents with self-harming behaviors and/or persistent suicidal ideation with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is a cognitive behavioral treatment originally developed by Marcia Linehan to treat chronically suicidal individuals. DBT focuses on teaching individuals the behavioral skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT functions to help individuals effectively solve problems and ultimately build lives worth living.

It typically takes 12 months of DBT to learn and dependably use the behavioral skills to problem solve without self harming and persistent suicidal ideation.
